 22 December 1969 → Several waterspouts moved inland on the southern coast of Cyprus near Nicosia. Four people were killed, one by a falling tree and others in collapsed buildings.
 22 December 1989 → A southeast Texas snowstorm brought Houston their 2nd snowiest day on record, with 1.7 inches. Even Galveston saw snow, with an inch of accumulation piling up on the island.

A tornado (F3) moved East through Marshall County, destroying almost every building on a farm Northeast of Kidder. Barns were heavily damaged on two other farms. 1 person was reported killed, with 5 others injured.
