While not quite the record setting heat that occurred during July, the above normal temperatures continued unabated into August. While no individual daily high temperatures were set, by months end, all three of our Local Climate Data Sites experienced one of their top 20 warmest August's on record.
The area of greatest rainfall migrated north during the month, at least partially offsetting the very dry conditions that occurred during July. The heaviest rain fell along and north of the M-32 corridor, with Sault Ste. Marie establishing their 18th wettest August.
