The heaviest rains for the month of June shifted north from what occurred this past spring, with most locations north of M-72 experiencing rainfall totals much above normal by months end.  Rainfall quickly tapered off further south, with Houghton Lake coming up just short of average.  While rainfall was abundant across much of the region, few records were set, with only Alpena recording one of their wettest Junes (8th wettest since consistent records began at that location in 1916).  Despite the plentiful rains, severe weather remained the exception rather than the rule, with only isolated reports of large hail and damaging wind gusts through the month.

In general, monthly temperatures were just above average across much of area.  Still, mean temperatures fell well within the realm of normal, with no monthly mean temperature records set.
