The Severe Weather of August 6, 2013

Radar Storm Reports Rainfall Reports

Strong to severe thunderstorms formed ahead of a cold front on Tuesday night, August 6, and moved through the area. The storms brought winds from 40-50 mph, with sporadic pockets of wind damage where wind speeds were likely over 60 mph. Downed tress and power lines were reported in small areas from north-central Wisconsin, into western and central Wisconsin. Northwest Clark county, near the town of Thorp, and right around Sparta in Monroe County, appear to have received the most wind damage. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued around 730 pm for the area near and north of Interstate 90. Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and Special Weather Statements began at 830 pm as storms approached the area.
