Amateur Radio Special Event

On Saturday, December 2nd 2000, the National Weather Service conducted a nationwide event with amateur radio operators. The goal was to contact as many HAM radio operators and NWS offices as possible. The purpose of the event was to recognize the contributions amateur radio operators make to the National Weather Service during severe weather.

Locally, we made 134 contacts in 30 states, including 14 NWS offices.

Many thanks to all that participated!!!
