NOAA Weather Radio Dedication
at Prairie du Chien

On August 31st, 1999 a dedication for two new NOAA Weather Radio transmitters in southwest Wisconsin was conducted. These new transmitters (WWG-86, WWG-89) provide weather radio coverage to a portion of Wisconsin which previously had no radio coverage. This dedication was the conclusion of a 4 year grass-roots campaign to improve weather radio coverage for the area.

Here are a few pictures from the dedication:

Todd Shea, Warning Coordination Meteorologist, La Crosse Weather Service

State Senator Brian Rude

State Representative DuWayne Johnsrud

Mark Oehler, Prairie du Chien
