Our experimental briefing page is designed primarily for federal, state, and local agencies.  The page can be used as a stand-alone briefing in order to get up to speed on the latest fire weather conditions, or it can be utilized for agency conference calls.  We would love to receive your comments and suggestions on the page.

Fire Weather at NWS Bismarck

The professionals at the National Weather Service forecast office in Bismarck, ND are responsible for weather, hydrologic, and climate data for 36 counties in western and central North Dakota.  During fire season, these folks closely monitor and forecast for the public conditions that may result in extreme rural fire behavior, and provide federal, state, and local agencies with forecast data like wind speed and relative humidity values that are important to the fire community as they conduct prescribed burns and plan for and react to wildfires.
