Winter Weather Preparedness Week 2012

The week of October 21st through the 27th has been designated as Winter Weather Preparedness Week in Colorado by Governor John Hickenlooper. Click here for the Governor's proclaimation. The four National Weather Service offices responsible for collecting weather data and issuing forecasts, outlooks, watches, warnings, and advisories for Colorado encourages the media and public to heighten their awareness of winter weather dangers across the Centennial State. One means to accomplish this goal is the issuance of public information statements which the media (newspapers, radio stations, television stations, etc.) can pass along to the public. The National Weather Service's direct link to its users, NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards, is also used in this campaign.

All these efforts help us to build a Weather-ready Nation...which will make America safer by saving more lives and protecting livelihoods.
