The National Weather Service (NWS) offices in Wyoming are sponsoring this flood awareness week and Governor of the State of Wyoming, Dave Freudenthal has proclaimed May 10-14, 2010, "Wyoming Flood Awareness Week." Click here to view the proclamation.

The NWS and Wyoming Department of Homeland Security officials encourage you to become familiar with safety rules and make plans to protect yourself and your family when flooding situations develop. Flood warnings are disseminated through NOAA weather radio, local television and radio stations, cable television systems, and outdoor warning sirens.

This information is provided in order to inform you on the different types of flooding dangers we are exposed to in Wyoming and also to provide safety information related to each type. Click on one of the tabs above to learn more.
