New Climate Normals, Now in GIS Maps!
The new 30-year climate normals from 1981-2010 have been released! NWS Des Moines has transferred these normals into colorful maps using GIS software, which are available below. For convenience, a table displaying the numerical value of each normal for select cities has been added to the bottom of each map. This site is currently under construction and additional maps will be added in the coming weeks.
*** Note: The exact values in the tables may not always match the corresponding color of the maps due to the interpolation method used and the location of the observation site relative to the city. ***
