Iowa Tornado Information

Below is a season summary, maps, and listings of the tornadoes that have occurred in Iowa for a particular year. Click each tornado icon on the map for more information on that particular event. For tornadoes that occurred in the Des Moines CWA, KMZ files of the tracks that can be viewed in Google Earth are available for download. Each KMZ file contains the outline of the track, the areas that sustained different degrees of damage (EF0, EF1, EF2, etc), and damage points along the path (many with photos).

Please note that this page may not contain the most up to date information. Contour lines are many times interpolated and may not encompass the full extent of the damage. This page will be updated as time and resources allow.
