...THE SEASONS FIRST ACCUMULATING SNOW ARRIVES ON THANKSGIVING DAY...

FOR AREAS ALONG AND NORTH OF M-59...2007 MARKS THE 3RD TIME IN THE
LAST 4 YEARS THE AREA HAS EXPERIENCED A WHITE THANKSGIVING. SINCE
2004...LAST YEAR WAS THE ONLY YEAR THAT FAILED TO PRODUCE A WHITE
THANKSGIVING. THIS YEARS THANKSGIVING SNOW FELL COMPLIMENTARY OF A
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT TRACKED NORTHEAST THROUGH THE OHIO VALLEY
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND EARLY THANKSGIVING MORNING. AN EXTENDED PERIOD
OF RAIN FINALLY TRANSITIONED TO ALL SNOW AROUND 2 AM THURSDAY ALONG
AND NORTH OF M-59...WHERE TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS RANGED
BETWEEN 1 TO 3 INCHES WITH MOST OF THE AREA RECEIVING AROUND 2
INCHES OF FRESH WET SNOW. FARTHER SOUTH...THE TRANSITION TO SNOW WAS
MUCH SLOWER AND DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL AFTER 5 AM...RESULTING IN SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS OF ONLY AN INCH OR LESS. BY NOON...ACCUMULATING SNOW
WAS ALL BUT OVER. ONLY A FEW LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS ACROSS THE
THUMB REGION REMAINED.
