Fire Weather Forecasts and Information

The National Weather Service Quad Cities Office is responsible for providing fire weather forecasts for eastern Iowa, northwest Illinois and northeast Missouri. The fire weather service program provides spot forecast services for the prevention, suppression and management of  forest and rangeland fires.


 Quad City Area Information

Grassland Fire Danger:     Red Flag Warning  (text)
Issued for extreme fire danger conditions.  A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are occurring now or will develop shortly. A combination of strong wind, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will contribute to extreme and explosive fire growth behavior.
