Missouri River Basin Flood Summary

In the Pleasant Hill/Kansas City forecast area, 10 forecast points on the Missouri river faced flooding conditions. In fact, 6 out of 10 gauge sites on the river experienced a top three flood during this heavy rainfall event. The levee system faced a hard test during this flood, with approxiately 8 non-federal levees along the Missouri River breached, up to 7 non-federal levees overtopped, with numerous sand bagging operations taking place in other locations.
