...Severe Storms Bring Hail, Tornadoes, and Flooding to Portions of the Area...

Heavy rains and severe storms impacted east central Kansas and west central Missouri on Wednesday.  Severe thunderstorms developed during the late afternoon hours and congealed into a cluster of thunderstorms that brought flooding rains to the area. At least one supercell thunderstorm tracked from Linn County Kansas across extreme northwest Bates County Missouri into Cass County Missouri, producing reports of funnel clouds and hail up to two inches in diameter.  The image below depicts several hazardous weather events that occurred across the area on Wednesday.   For more detailed listing of preliminary storm reports and ongoing river flooding please visit our Severe Weather Summary Page.
