Damage Survey Results from September 12, 2008 Tornado Outbreak

Several small thunderstorms spawned numerous brief tornadoes over parts of eastern Kansas and west central Missouri during the late afternoon and evening hours Friday, September 12, 2008. National Weather Service Meteorologists conducted damage surveys of known tornadic damage on September 13, 2008. As a result of the surveys, all tornadoes have been classified as EF0 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. Tornadoes of this strength generally contain winds under 85 mph, with most of the damage confined to trees. However, a few structures also received minor damage.
