The National Weather Service (NWS) along with partners from across Kansas and Missouri has designated November 18, 2009 as Winter Weather Awareness Day in Kansas and Missouri. Many people are often caught unprepared for the snow, ice, and cold weather conditions of winter. Knowledge and preparation are essential to minimizing these hazards.
This year we will be providing a weeks worth of winter weather information! Each day will feature a different topic ranging from our changing winter weather products, to winter weather safety, winter weather climatology and even an outlook for the season to come. You will find the schedule for winter weather awareness week below!
