THE OVERALL THEME FOR THE SPRING OF 2014 WAS COOL AND WET. RAIN AND
SNOW AMOUNTS THROUGHOUT THE SPRING WERE WELL ABOVE AVERAGE...WITH
THE HIGHLIGHT BEING AN INTENSE BLIZZARD AT THE END OF MARCH THAT
BROUGHT NEARLY A FOOT OF ACCUMULATION IN 24 HOURS. LATER IN THE
SPRING...MORE RAINFALL AT THE END OF APRIL HELPED PUSH MOISTURE
TOTALS TO OVER AN INCH AND A HALF ABOVE AVERAGE SPRING VALUES.

BOTH MARCH AND APRIL STARTED OUT WITH SOME BITTERLY COLD
TEMPERATURES...WITH A RECORD LOW OF 11 DEGREES SET ON APRIL 15.
AVERAGING OUT TEMPERATURES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SEASON...READINGS
WERE RUNNING ALMOST 5 DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE. THIS IS EVEN INCLUDING
A SHARP WARM UP DURING THE LAST WEEK IN MAY WHERE GRAND FORKS
FINALLY REACHED THE 80S. WITH COOL AND OFTEN WET CONDITIONS
BECOMING HOT RIGHT AT THE END OF MAY...IT MAY FEEL TO SOME THAT WE
WENT STRAIGHT INTO SUMMER.
