Summary

There was no river flooding in the area during October.

There were no flash flood or river flood events in October.

General Hydrologic Information

Temperatures in October were below to much below normal across the region, with most areas running 6 to 8 degrees below the 30 year average. Precipitation for the month was above to much above normal. Most of the region received 2 to 4 inches of precipitation for the month, which is ½ to 2 inches above normal.
 
Soil Moisture conditions at the end of October were near normal to slightly above normal. The long term drought indices showed near normal conditions across the entire region, with the exception of the areas along and west of the Missouri River in South Dakota where abnormally dry conditions persisted.
