Gridded Evapotranspiration Forecasts

About this product, the Experimental Forecast of Reference Evapotranspiration for Short Canopy Vegetation:

  • The ET forecasts provided on this page are the expected amount of daily reference evapotranspiration in hundredths of an inch for the next 7 days and a total reference of evapotranspiration for the 7 day period.
  • The ET forecast is calculated by standardizing on the Penman-Monteith Reference Evapotranspiration equation (50 cm full cover alfalfa).
  • The ET forecasts are calculated using NWS forecasts of temperature, dewpoint, wind, and cloud cover.
  • This product will be issued at varying days during the day. Products from WFO Sioux Falls will be issued at least three times a day around 5 am, 12 pm, and 4 pm local time.
  • This product is experimental with support and presentation for these forecsts subject to change. Please see the Product Description Document (PDD) for details.
