

The storm developed in eastern Lake County and moved into Brookings County. The radar image above is taken from 5:03 pm CDT 16 September 2006. The image on the left shows radar reflectivity. A bounded weak echo region (BWER) is evident north of Brookings on Interstate 29 with evidence of an rear flank downdraft (RFD) to the south of the BWER. A significant mesocyclone is evident on radar between Brookings and White in the vicinity of the BWER. A tornado was reported at 5:05 pm CDT and was located one mile east of Brookings.
