The last day of March 2009 was marked by a strong northwest wind across central and south central Nebraska and north central Kansas. Deep low pressure tracking into southern Minnesota...and high pressure over the southern plains left our region with a tight pressure gradient responsible for the strong wind. For those counting millibars...there was a 15 millibar pressure difference between central Nebraska and southwest Minnesota during the afternoon.
