Duane Henk - Cooperative Weather Observer in Merrick County - receives 10 Year Length-of-Service Award

Duane Henk was recently presented with his 10 Year Length-of-Service Award and a 10 Year pin, by Mr. Ryan Pfannkuch, representing the National Weather Service office in Hastings, Nebraska. Mr. Henk has done an outstanding job in measuring precipitation, snowfall, and snow depth from his location in Central City. He utilizes an MMTS system for recording maximum and minimum temperatures each day, along with an 8 inch standard rain gage. Mr. Henk first began taking weather observations on September 1st, 1996 for the National Weather Service.
