R.G. Marshall from Sherman County Receives 5 Year Special Service Award  

Since May 23rd, 2000 Mr. Ronald G. Marshall has been a Cooperative Weather Observer for Sherman County, Nebraska.  R.G. has done an exemplary job while measuring maximum and minimum temperatures, 24 hour precipitation, snowfall and snow depth at his residence. R.G. utilizes a standard 8 inch rain guage, along with a digital MMTS temperature system, to reliably record the daily data. Ron is also adept at calling in severe or inclement weather reports and keeping the local National Weather Service office informed of rapidly changing conditions. R.G. has managed to take the daily cooperative weather observations above and beyond the call of duty.

Larry Wirth and Steve Carmel presented the 5 Year Special Service Award to R.G. Marshall on May 17th.
