Thunderstorms erupted over the area Friday afternoon and evening, September 11th, as a cold front pushed across the region.  Although no reports of severe weather were received in association with this thunderstorm activity, heavy rainfall did strike portions of south central Nebraska between the I-80 and Highway 6 corridors.  Between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm Friday, radar estimated 1-2 inch rainfall amounts had fallen across the area...with a few localized areas perhaps picking up nearly 3 inches of rain in just under 90 minutes!

The table below depicts measured rainfall from across the area during the 24-hour period ending at 7:00 AM Saturday morning, most of which fell between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm Friday.

The image below shows radar estimated rainfall across the area through 6:00 pm Friday.  Notice the heavy rainfall which fell across northern Kearney county and northern Adams county, as well as some locations across Hamilton and York counties.
