A strong pressure gradient between developing low pressure over the Central Rockies and high pressure centered over the Middle Mississippi River Valley made for a day of strong winds across our region.  Winds sustained at 30 to 35 mph were common throughout the afternoon...with peak wind gusts well above 45 mph at many locations.

Although the pressure gradient had relaxed somewhat by late evening...gusty winds will prevail for the better part of the night.  Overnight...expect a south wind...sustained at 20 to 30 mph...with a few gusts to around 35 mph.
