March was a cool and dry month across most of our region.  While most sites were within a degree either side of normal...there was quite a contrast between Kearney’s monthly average temperature that was 4 degrees above normal and Smith Center and Superior’s average temperatures...that were over 3 degrees below normal.

March usually marks the beginning of the wet season for our area...with an average monthly precipitation of around 2 inches.  This year..the mark fell short with most locations only receiving about half their normal monthly precipitation...most of which fell at the middle and end of the month.

Note: # one day or more of missing data. * the last of several occurrences.

YELLOW indicates above normal temperature.

BLUE indicates below normal temperature.
