Severe thunderstorms producing hail to the size of baseballs...wind gusts to 50 to 60 miles per hour and minor flooding tracked southeast through extreme south-central Nebraska and parts of north-central Kansas just after sunrise. Baseball sized hail was reported near Webber, Kansas...and the storms dumped around two-and-a-half inches of rain from west to south of Lovewell Dam in Kansas. Around an inch-and-a-half of rain fell in less than two hours in the towns of Burr Oak, Kansas and Red Cloud, Nebraska.

Another round of severe weather is expected to develop over the high plains this afternoon and move into parts of south-central Nebraska and north-central Kansas again this evening. The primary severe weather focus for our region is expected to be mainly south of Interstate 80 into north-central Kansas where large hail...high winds and even a tornado or two will be possible.
