Although February was a colder than normal month for most locations...the month did not stand out as a significant record breaker.  Superior did manage to experience their 14th coldest February since 1902.  Several locations did fall into the Top 20 to Top 30 coldest February’s of record.  February was however cold enough to make the winter months of December through February one of the Top Ten coldest winters of record at Hastings/10th...Holdrege/9th and Superior/5th in over 100 years.

Precipitation for the month ranged from just a few hundredths above normal...to about a half inch below normal at Kearney.
