Thunderstorms erupted over Valley County August 24th, bringing with them high winds and large hail.  Hail to the size of ping pong balls, reported three miles northwest of Ord, was the largest hail reported.  Wind gusts as high as 60 mph were also reported from multiple locations across the county.  In addition...heavy rainfall was experienced across the area, with the ASOS (Automated Surface Observation System) site at Evelyn Sharp Field Airport in Ord, NE receiving 0.78" of rain within one and a half hours.  The table and map below depict severe weather reports received from across the area Monday night.
