A storm system emerged into the Central Plains on Monday, November 16th, 2009, resulting in accumulating snow across primarily far southeast portions of the NWS Hastings coverage area.

The initial, narrow band of snow associated with this event actually started during the evening hours on Sunday, November 15th, and resulted in localized accumulations from a Trace up to around 1 inch across western portions of the area, including around Holdrege  and Beaver City NE and Logan KS.

However, the "main event" kicked into gear during the early morning hours on the 16th, with portions of Thayer, Fillmore, Nuckolls, Jewell and Mitchell counties receiving at least 1-3 inches of snow. As depicted in the map below, roughly the southern half of Thayer County NE received the brunt of the snow in the NWS Hastings coverage area, with amounts ranging from 3-5 inches around Hebron and Byron, to as much as 6-8 inches in the far southeast corner of the county near Hubbell.
