A windy end to the weekend led right into a windy start to the week across south central Nebraska and north central Kansas on Monday, January 25, 2010.  Automated airport equipment at Aurora, Hastings and Grand Island all reported wind gusts over 50 MPH prior to dawn Monday morning, and were later joined by 50+ MPH gusts at Ord and Lexington.  These winds were howling on the backside of a strong surface low pressure system centered in the Upper Great Lakes region.
