A strong pressure gradient across the Central Plains Friday (May 7) left many locations with a day of strong northwest winds, especially across south central Nebraska. Sustained winds reached 35 mph at many locations by late morning, and kept rolling into the early afternoon. Winds didn't subside until early evening.
