The first major snowfall event of the season has hit Northwest Kansas.  A strong winter storm system moving east across the Central Rockies produced snow over the tri-state area.  The storm combined with a Canadian cold front to produce heavy snowfall and bitterly cold temperatures.  During that time, a low pressure system began moving across the area producing gusty north winds which reduced visibility greatly in some areas.  Snowfall reported ranged up to 7 inches near Dresden.
