.SYNOPSIS...

IN THE JUNE 26TH RELEASE OF THE U.S. DROUGHT MONITOR...NO DROUGHT 
CONDITIONS WERE INDICATED ANYWHERE IN THE TRI STATE AREA.

THE DROUGHT MONITOR FOCUSES ON BROAD-SCALE CONDITIONS. LOCAL 
CONDITIONS MAY VARY.

DROUGHT LEVELS...
D0 -- ABNORMALLY DRY OR RECOVERING FROM DROUGHT
D1 -- MODERATE DROUGHT
D2 -- SEVERE DROUGHT
D3 -- EXTREME DROUGHT
D4 -- EXCEPTIONAL DROUGHT

PERCENT NORMALS OF PRECIPITATION ARE THE AVERAGE ACROSS A COUNTY FOR 
THE INDICATED PERIOD. LOCAL CONDITIONS MAY VARY. A VALUE OF 100 
PERCENT WOULD BE THE CLIMATOLOGICAL NORMAL...A VALUE OF 50 PERCENT

.CLIMATE SUMMARY...

SPORADIC THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE BROUGHT 
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL TO SOME LOCATIONS...BUT OVERALL THE PATTERN 
WAS BELOW NORMAL FOR THE SECOND MONTH IN A ROW. THE HEAVIEST RAINS 
WERE CONCENTRATED IN A SMALL AREA FROM OBERLIN SOUTH ACROSS MUCH OF 
SHERIDAN COUNTY...FROM REPEATED THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT BETWEEN THE 
13TH AND THE 15TH OF JUNE. ALSO...ABOVE NORMAL RAINFALL WAS MEASURED 
GENERALLY NORTH OF A LINE FROM TRENTON NEBRASKA TO STRATTON 
COLORADO. ELSEWHERE...BELOW TO MUCH BELOW NORMAL RAIN WAS MEASURED. 
IN GOODLAND...IT WAS THE 10TH DRIEST JUNE ON RECORD AND THE DRIEST 
SINCE 2001. THIS WAS ON THE HEELS OF A VERY DRY MAY...AND FOR THE 
TWO-MONTH PERIOD OF MAY AND JUNE ONLY 1.79 INCHES WAS MEASURED...5TH 
DRIEST ON RECORD FOR THAT TIME PERIOD AND THE DRIEST SINCE 1976.
