The DVIL showed a large core maxed out at 80 kg/m2 (bronze color in image). The Layer 3 Max Reflectivity also showed a large core of greater than 60 dBZ above 33,000 ft AGL, significantly above the minus 20 celsius level (21,700 ft AGL). Given the deep, persistent, moderate-strong rotation within the storm, this would indicate that significant severe hail was probable. (ref.
