Wichita had seventeen 100+ degree days for the month of July.

    AT AROUND 2:00 PM ON THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON, THE MERCURY REACHED 100
    DEGREES AT THE WICHITA MID CONTINENT AIRPORT.  THAT BRINGS A GRAND TOTAL
    OF 17 DAYS IN WHICH THE MERCURY REACHED 100 DEGREES OR HIGHER THIS
    MONTH.  THIS IS THE MOST 100 DEGREE DAYS FOR THE MONTH OF JULY, SINCE
    1980 WHEN THERE WERE 24.  ALL TIME, THIS JULY WILL RANK 6TH IN THE
    NUMBER OF 100 DEGREE DAYS.  KEEP IN MIND, WEATHER RECORDS FOR WICHITA GO
    ALL THE WAY BACK TO 1888.
