Welcome Rain Finally Visits Wichita! (8/18/2001)

Wichita Received Measurable Rainfall For The First Time Since July 27th.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THREE WEEKS THE WICHITA AREA RECEIVED MEASURABLE RAINFALL. THE MID-CONTINENT AIRPORT REPORTED 0.53 INCHES OF RAIN FROM THE THUNDERSTORMS ON AUGUST 17TH. THIS WAS THE FIRST MEASURABLE RAIN SINCE JULY 27TH.

RAINFALL DID VARY ACROSS THE CITY...WITH THE HEAVIEST RAIN FALLING ACROSS THE NORTHWEST PART OF THE CITY. SOME TOTALS FROM ACROSS THE WICHITA AREA ON AUGUST 17TH INCLUDE:
