WICHITA MID CONTINENT AIRPORT REACHES TOP TEN LIST FOR THE WETTEST SUMMERS.

THIS IS CERTAINLY A SUMMER TO REMEMBER FOR RAINFALL. AS OF 5 AM AUGUST 20Th, OUR TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNT SINCE JUNE 1 HAS BEEN 16.95 INCHES. THIS PUTS US AT THE NUMBER 9 SPOT FOR WETTEST SUMMERS (JUNE-AUGUST). CURRENTLY, WE ARE ONLY TWO HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH FROM THE NUMBER 8 SPOT WHICH IS 16.97 SET BACK IN 1962. THE WEATHER PATTERN STILL LOOKS UNSETTLED FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS, SO THE NUMBER 8 SPOT COULD BE BROKEN BEFORE THE END OF AUGUST. WE ARE STILL A LONG WAY FROM BREAKING THE WETTEST SUMMER WHICH WAS 23.32 INCHES SET IN 1950.
