A Summer to Remember (9/1/2004)

Wichita Mid Continent Airport ties the 10th coolest and cracks the number 8 spot on the wettest summer.

This is certainly a summer to remember. Not only was it a wet summer it was very cool as well. Our rainfall total for the months of June through August ended up being 17.09 inches which puts it at the number 8 spot for the wettest summer on record. The previous record for the 8th wettest summer was 16.97 set in 1962. In the temperature department, the mean temperature for the months of June-August was 75.4 degrees. This ties the previous record of 75.4 set in 1903.
