How wet has it been this August? How about the wettest August on record for Wichita!!

Through noon on August 25th, Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport has received 10.69 inches of rainfall. This extreme amount of rainfall ranks as the wettest August on record. Previously, August of 1985 held the record for the wettest August with 8.86 inches of rainfall.

If Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport can pick up 0.98 inches of additional rainfall this August, this summer would rank as the wettest summer on record. Currently this has been the second wettest summer on record. Climate records at Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport date back to 1888.
