...ALL-TIME RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER WERE SET FOR WICHITA...SALINA...AND RUSSELL ON NOVEMBER 8TH...

ON NOVEMBER 8TH, HISTORICALLY WARM WEATHER FOR NOVEMBER OVERSPREAD CENTRAL AND EASTERN KANSAS. TEMPERATURES SKYROCKETED TO THE MID AND UPPER 80S WITH SEVERAL LOCATIONS BREAKING ALL-TIME RECORD HIGHS FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER.

WICHITA ROSE TO 86 DEGREES WHICH BROKE THE OLD NOVEMBER RECORD HIGH OF 85 SET BACK ON NOVEMBER 8TH 1980. THIS IS THE SECOND MONTH IN A ROW THAT WICHITA HAS SET A MONTHLY RECORD FOR WARMEST TEMPERATURE. ON OCTOBER 1ST, THE MERCURY AT MID-CONTINENT AIRPORT SOARED TO 97 DEGREES TO ESTABLISH A NEW ALL-TIME RECORD HIGH FOR OCTOBER.

SALINA CLIMBED TO 89 DEGREES WHICH BROKE THE PREVIOUS NOVEMBER RECORD HIGH OF 86 DEGREES SET BACK ON NOVEMBER 6TH 1980.

RUSSELL ALSO REACHED 89 DEGREES WHICH BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER OF 86 DEGREES ALSO SET BACK ON NOVEMBER 6TH 1980.

CHANUTE DID NOT QUITE MATCH THE NOVEMBER RECORD OF 89 SET BACK IN 1915 ON NOVEMBER 6TH. HOWEVER...IT DID MANAGE TO SET A NEW DAILY RECORD OF 84...WHICH BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 82 SET IN 2005, JUST ONE YEAR EARLIER.
