Strong Weather System Slams the Midwest! (2/24/2007)

A strong storm system affected central and southeast Kansas on February 23rd and 24th, bringing a wide variety of weather to the region.

A strong storm system moved through central and eastern Kansas on Saturday, bringing a wide variety of weather to the region. Everything from blizzard warnings to tornado warnings were been in effect across Kansas in association with this storm. Ahead of the cold front, thunderstorms, gusty southerly winds and well above normal temperatures are common. Behind the front, gusty northwest winds to 50 or 60 mph quickly bring much colder air, snow, and near blizzard conditions to the region. Image 1 is a visible satellite image that shows this strong system along with dust that has been picked up across northern Texas.
