Fall Severe Weather Across Kansas! (10/15/2007)

A strong storm system ejected out into the plains on Sunday October 14th spreading strong and severe storms across much of Kansas. Image 1 is a surface map from around 7 pm on Sunday evening. This map shows a cold front cutting through the central portion of Kansas. With a moist airmass in place, this cold front provided the spark for strong and severe storms.

Image 2 and Image 3 are radar images from Sunday evening showing storms forming along the cold front. The strongest storms Sunday evening produced hail to golf ball size along with strong damaging winds and flooding. Click here to view all of the severe weather reports from Sunday October 14th.

Much of the area also picked up substantial rainfall on Sunday. Image 4 is a map of 24 hour rainfall amounts ending at 7 am on Monday October 15th.
