The First Snowfall of the Season for Central Kansas

Portions of central Kansas experienced their first taste of snow on Friday November 28th, 2008. Snow began around 3am and ended in the early afternoon in portions of central Kansas including Russell County. Snow accumulated on grassy surfaces throughout much of Russell, Barton and Lincoln Counties. Accumulations of 3 inches were reported in Russell, KS. Other portions of Russell and Barton Counties received 2-3 inches of snow, while areas further northeast in Lincoln County received 0.5 inch. Image 1
