THE MOST SIGNIFICANT SNOWSTORM OF THE EARLY WINTER SEASON MOVED
THROUGH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS ON THURSDAY.  SNOW BEGAN
DURING THE MORNING HOURS IN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS...AND MOVED NORTH
THROUGH THE DAY.  MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW OCCURRED FROM THE LATE
MORNING...THROUGH THE AFTERNOON.  3 TO 6 INCHES ACCUMULATED ACROSS
THE AREA...WITH THE HEAVIEST TOTALS IN SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS.  AFTER
THE SNOW ENDED DURING THE EVENING HOURS...WESTERLY WINDS OF 10 TO
20 MPH...WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH...CAUSED CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW.  SNOW-TO-LIQUID RATIOS WERE AROUND 20:1 FOR
