Preparedness and Education

The National Weather Service issues forecasts and warnings to help save lives. 
However, in order for these to be effective, people must know what to do for protection 
from these hazards. It is important to have a plan of action BEFORE the event strikes, 
so you will be well prepared when the time comes.

    RESOLVE TO BE READY IN 2010 !! 

The New Year is fast approaching and for the sixth year FEMA's 
Ready Campaign is encouraging Americans to "Resolve to be Ready"
by making a New Year's resolution to get prepared for emergencies.

National Weather Service Brochures

If you travel to other parts of the country, you may run into unfamiliar weather situations 
(e.g. hurricanes, rip currents, etc.). NWS's national headquarters has preparedness
