Illinois Weather Trivia for January 27th

Heavy snow fell across the nation's midsection. A two-day storm in Illinois produced 10 inches or more of snow, north of a Quincy to Bloomington line, while major ice accumulation was noted elsewhere across central Illinois. The Chicago metropolitan areas received the brunt of the heavy snow, where up to 20 inches occurred in the southern metro area. Travel was greatly crippled for a few days.
