Springfield reported 11 consecutive hours with a dewpoint temperature of 80 degrees or higher, before a line of severe thunderstorms brought cooler air to the region. Dewpoints of 80 degrees are extremely high for central Illinois, and would even be a bit unusual in a normally humid location such as Florida.
