Shelley Edwards of Spencer, Indiana received a 25-year Length of Service Award and the Dept. of Commerce Public Service Award on August 15, 2008. In addition to being an outstanding Co-op observer, Shelley went beyond the normal duties of the Co-op program during the epic flooding in central Indiana in June of 2008. Although his office and observation site were flooded by 3 feet of water Shelley still managed to obtain rainfall and river readings and provided the Indianapolis National Weather Service office with timely and critical updates on the flooding.
